Wah so long haven’t updated properly!
Ok the reason is because… I made a last ditch attempt at freedom and went to Nagoya for a short trip!
Last ditch because after this bogged down with two kids under 2 I dunno if I will ever get out of lockdown. O_O
So when Bobo asked if I wanted to be her plus one on her work trip to Nagoya I was obviously like TAKE ALL MY MONEY. Lol.
Didn’t really take that many photos cos I took it as a non-work super relaxing trip. But posting them anyway!
One of our first stops was… the drugstore. Lol. I think we spent at least 70% of our free unscheduled time in different drugstores and pharmacies.
Surprisingly I didn’t shop too much! Still shopped la wtf but quite choosy with my purchases this time. Last time my shopping behavior was more like take basket and sweep shelf contents into my basket hahaha. Maybe this is what growing old is like.
Went to the Ohsu Kannon temple!
Majestic huh?
Here’s me and Bobo. I look quite stressed here cos when I asked someone who looked like he was working there (as part of the stalls and festivities around the temple) he said sure! 100 yen only WTF.
He was joking la but I didn’t know! Not used to Japanese strangers joking wtf. So when he was taking this picture I was thinking aiya how to tell him I actually don’t want him to take wtf.
My #audfit! A bit obsessed with loose but structured tops now cos they fit Bump well but still look streamlined and stylish.
Carnival outside Ohsu Kannon! Actually I really wanted to play this but how to bring the goldfish back to Malaysia…. In my mouth ah wtf.
Stopped by Komehyo in Ohsu to check out their designer floor! They carry both secondhand and unused designer goods so basically Bobo and I had a ball tapping in all the prices and converting to RM and oohing and aahing over how cheap everything was hahaha.
The secondhand goods are all graded by quality but even a B grade (the third grade) item is in fantastic shape!
Like this backpack. *tears glistening in eyes wtf
Very very cute leh!!! I’ve never seen this design before! It’s actually very small, so much so that I had to test putting my wallet in to see if it would fit. (It did.) But doesn’t look small cos I’m carrying it la wtf looks just nice right?
It was only Rm2000! But I didn’t get it cos… we need the money for Bump! Haha. No la I don’t like buying expensive things on impulse will feel mad guilty one. T_T
This Hermes damn cute hor!
That’s Nagoya TV Tower behind! We’re on top of Oasis 21 which features a very cool water feature on the roof.
That’s also not a camel toe hor HAHAHA. It’s just Bump trying to say hi through my pants. :X
It’s supposed to be a modern symbol of Nagoya! According to the client la haha.
Here here Bump. Your five seconds of fame.
Sorry ah a lot of selfies.
It was a Sunday so the main street in Sakae (the most happening part of Nagoya) was closed for pedestrians! So we also walk la hahaha.
Nagoya is famous for chicken wings! We went to Yama Chan which is a chain of chicken wing restaurants. It’s actually more like an izakaya cos people go there to drink and eat an assortment of foods, chicken wings being one of them.
I don’t normally drink beer but Bump wants some beer! Look at those two drunkards beside me. >.> Lolol.
Oh ya one night Bobo and I decided to hit Don Quijote for cheap cosmetics and lashes (and random rubbish). Got a few branches but dunno how Bobo managed to Google for the furthest one wtf.
We should have suspected cos our train ticket there cost us 500+ yen each already which is very expensive for normal within-city standards! But no we only realized when our train took forever to arrive wtf.
So when we got there we were like OK must shop more to make our train ticket’s worth. We did buy some stuff but not super substantial la. But halfway through I heard them make an announcement that foreigners who show passport can get 8% tax back!
Being true blue aunties, we were like ok must do it. So I went to the cashier and pulled out my passport. The staff seemed a bit flustered (maybe cos nobody actually did that before wtf) but they very politely and willingly obliged.
We ended up standing there for an entire half hour while the staff filled out the necessary paperwork. made out the returns and wrapped our purchases in tearproof paper. T_T
The staff warned us that because it’s duty free we cannot open the package until we leave Japan wtf. So basically the makeup I bought cannot be used any time soon.
And the tax refund? It was a grand total of…. 400 yen.
HAHAHAAHAH. All that trouble for RM12 T_T I’d willingly give it back to Don Quijote la hahaah. But never mind la consider cover our ticket back to our hotel.
Hungry ghost and a very pretty married woman. Thank god for the conbinis man, can just pop in any time and buy snacks for whenever I’m hungry.
The view at Oasis 21.
One of Nagoya’s specialty dishes – miso tonkatsu! Nagoya has quite a few of these foods unique to it which is pretty cool. Not sure if other cities have their own foods (besides Osaka and its okonomiyaki which I don’t like :X) cos I don’t pay a lot of attention to food hehe.
Miso tonkatsu was nais though!
We might have overdosed on purikura…
Ya the big eyes thing too much hahaha but it was set on auto mode.
Haven’t done it in years! The technology so advanced now that they even elongate your legs and slim your hips. :O
And can change lip color too!
See Bobo’s legs freakishly long lol.
I dunno if I’ve just never noticed or that Nagoya is the most baby friendly city in Japan??? In every toilet stall there’s a special baby seat in it so moms can put their babies in it safely while they pee.
Some stalls even come with a tiny urinal (like above) or a small toilet bowl especially for kids.
And I saw parents babywearing everywhere! So baby friendly one ah motivated to bring Fighter next time. :3
Uh we got a bit tied up spending our coins buying Fuchiko from the toy machines at the airport.
Sushi candles! Also at the airport. quite a few interesting shops and restaurants at the Nagoya airport actually.
Oh ya at the airport was when the typhoon hit too. T_______T
Our flight got canceled and…we were stuck at the airport overnight. We had to exit the boarding area and pick up our baggage…
Very impressed that the ground staff so efficiently unloaded the plane and color coordinated the baggage so the passengers could locate bags easier!
Then we had to start pumping plastic air mattresses to sleep on for the night. T________________T
But luckily the client saved us! They managed to finagle a couple of really nice rooms in one of the airport hotels (no easy feat cos all flights were canceled so everyone was scrambling for a room).
So this pregnant lady didn’t need to be homeless la hahahaha so grateful.
Next morning it was all clear to go. The typhoon swept the skies clean and left us a farewell rainbow. 🙂
