It’s not often that i write these sort of cryptic posts but I wanted to put it out here. I haven’t really written anything REALLY personal for a while so maybe this will be a start.
And for the first time in months, years even, I will attempt to just write whatever pops into my mind. No filtering, no thinking does this sound good, does this sound correct. No rephrasing, just the words as they come.
My friend Stephanie used to say something along the lines of everyday you encounter 3 stupid people. And she’d go 1/3 every time she met one wtf. I think that’s an exaggeration – I don’t think we meet 3 stupid people every day do we? Maybe it’s because I work from home. If I met 3 stupid people everyday it’d be Fatty, Fighter and the nanny wtf.
Anyway. I don’t often meet someone I dislike so much that when i do, I’m surprised by the depth of my distaste. It’s different from getting so angry at someone you hate them on the spot. This is less emotional but much more pervasive. If I were angry, this would be a red sort of heat. something that blinds me to everything but my rage and my desire to say something calculated to hurt.
No, this is something much colder, detached. I look at things as if from up above, from a far away point of view because I’m not actually involved, and that view is crystal clear, unhindered by biased fury.
And what I see is a person who sees every fault but their own. Who refuses to see in spite of the evidence. Someone who name drops. Someone who may not have a concept of loyalty. Somebody who puts their desires first. Someone who may not have the experience or aptitude to weather the most trying moments gracefully. Someone who may mess with someone else’s peace for their own gain. And then who convinces themselves they are seizing the dream. Carpe diem and all that.
That’s my view. I dare say I could be wrong, that I’m seeing things warped because I’m not floating directly above like what I thought, but hovering to the side, where the view isn’t so clear and things look different. But perception is reality. That person’s perception could be their reality and in their eyes I would be as wrong as I think they are.
In my eyes, this is the reality. The reality is that I don’t like you. I am disturbed by your delusions and I will not give you the satisfaction of dropping my name.
So you know how I’m like a serious fan of Tesco Online.
So I was thinking about the convenience of getting groceries delivered right to the doorstep and it occurred to me there was another way of using it.
It’s already mafan enough for me to get groceries for a household of eight, what more say someone who’s running a charity home for like…fifty people wtf. And coincidentally a friend told me that a charity home she knew who had a monthly wish list of things they needed.
I decided to do something nice. So I got onto Tesco Online and bought a whole bunch of stuff and arranged to have them delivered to the place.
Aih I spent like 50% more of my weekly household budget and I don’t even feel like I made a dent in their wishlist. But I got all kinds of stuff from perishables to cleaning supplies to antiseptic cream and adult diapers.
Ti Ratana is a welfare organization that runs an old folks’ home, children’s home and a women’s shelter. They rely on public funding and they house and care for 200+ people in total so their wishlist is super long. :X

So today Fatty and I drove to Ti Ratana to wait for the Tesco truck so I could sign for the delivery.
They’re here!!

Getting delivery of the items!

Checking them off the shopping list so I know if the delivery is correct.

So much easier to just have them delivered here than buying myself and carting everything here. 😀

Handing my credit card over. I dunno why the delivery man looks so hopeless hahahahaa.
(wah this must be the blog post with the most photos of the back of my head wtf)
After that we took a tour around the home (they’re actually pretty big and take up a few buildings down a street). No pictures because they’re not allowed.
Visiting the home was a huge impact on us. They’re running out of space so some of the old folks’ beds had to be put in the kitchen. And… most of them just sat around listless or slept. I asked the caretaker how they all ended up there and she told us it’s usually either they have no kids or family to look after them, or the kids don’t want them, or have no means to care for them. I looked at them and wondered how must have their youths been? Did they imagine they would spend their last years this way? Does anyone?
While the kids and babies in the home were mostly from single moms who may not even know who the fathers are. The caretaker told us that their moms couldn’t take care of them so they deposited them there. And those kids would grow up there until they finished high school when they could leave if they wanted to.
Fatty asked, “Does anyone get adopted?” The caretaker answered, “Yes, but we don’t really encourage it. We’ve had a few cases where the adopted parents returned the child because they ran into financial problems. Or they were childless, but suddenly conceived their own flesh and blood and decided they didn’t want the adopted child anymore.”
WTF?!?! BAD ENOUGH YOU RETURN PETS TO THE SPCA BUT HUMAN ALSO WANT TO RETURN? You think a child is your plaything!?!?!?!?!? You think got return policy and money back guarantee!?!?! It should be a jail-able offense.
My blood boiled. I thought about our Fighter safe at home who will never live a day without love, and if we can help it, will never want for anything. How lucky he is. And for that matter, how lucky we all are.
Please don’t say wah you so noble or anything cos it’s…awkward wtf. I feel like this is selfish kindness wtf cos I just think that if the roles were reversed, and I didn’t have the privileges I do, I’d want people to help me out. The least I can do is this. Maybe next time if I need it, someone will come to my help too.

To be honest I feel a bit ashamed that I only thought of doing this cos I was thinking of my own grocery shopping at Tesco. But I’m glad I did.
If you want to help out too or find out more, here’s the Ti Ratana website. And if you want some Tesco delivery, here’s their website too.
Exhausted. Took a day trip to Penang to see my grandfather who isn’t doing so well. When I hugged him goodbye I was so aware that this could be the last time…
Here he is, chilling with an ipad and a portable speaker I brought down from KL. He was dozing in his armchair, and my mom turned on the music – a song recorded in the 1950s. Immediately he lit up, his face softened, and his eyes fluttered close again. But he put his hands up and started clapping softly. When he tired of clapping, he continued to lie there with a smile on his face and his right hand curled loosely into a thumbs up sign.
He told my mom, “I’m very happy.”
I wonder what memories he’s connected with this song. A lost love? Friendships as a young man?
The biggest mistake we make with old people is forgetting that they were once young too.

Before I start, I present to you…
My face! Lolol. No la just wanna show because I just redid my hair color to a very beautiful dark lavender grey (which I am totally keeping btw no more kam mou ok) and freshened up my rainbow extensions. Thanks Hikky!
Above photo was taken on the way to the Expedia Partner Appreciation and Awards event. Here’s me with Proudduck Vivy and Wei Zhi from Kampungboycitygal. We’re all wearing Expedia colors!
The awards were about recognizing Expedia hotel partners efforts and achievements which although not so relevant to us who were there as bloggers, was still interesting cos I think I learned quite a lot about the travel industry and the way people make holiday plans!
But mostly it made me feel ultra itchy about traveling. I NEED A TRIP!!! *broken record
With Wei Zhi whom I haven’t seen for ages!
And Vivy! Hehe they had silly signs and props to take pictures with. Sorry Fats you’re on your own tonight.
Travel is about fun and relaxation so there was a massage booth set up for us to take advantage of. I’m smiling here but inside (in my muscles) I was in intense pain wtf. Masseuse said my back muscles are all knotted up and she asked if I had any numbness in my hands. Yes! I do! It’s the stupid knots that came from stress causing it. She said if I don’t do anything the pain will spread to my neck and lower back haih.
I need a holiday!!!!
Speaking of holidays, I present to you the Expedia Vacationizer. It reads your mind and tells the travel destination for you!
Put it on your head and the Vacationizer will detect your heartbeat and they show you images of different travel locations and it tells you when your pulse speeds up means that’s the location you wanna go to.
I got Paris!?!?! Maybe my heart skipped a beat cos I remembered the awesome foie gras we ate there wtf but I swear my soulplace is Japan hahaha. Or a beach island.
With Vivy before the awards started.
Hehe blue and yellow.
Hotels and flights giveaways omg. Desperately wanted to win a trip to Japan… but not so lucky aih. But cannot ask for so much la cos Expedia took us on our girls trip last time to Taipei and Tokyo. ^^
Presentation starts! Here’s something I thought was really interesting – most of how we access the internet now is from smartphones, 52% of the time in 2013. Is that why I get more comments on my Dayre now than I do my actual blog? Hehe.
51% of all bookings made on Expedia are within 24 hours of the trip. You all last minute kings!
It’s all from mobile though so I guess most people use the Expedia app last minute cos it’s so easy and also great for emergencies and last minute plans.
400 airlines and 200,000 hotels working with Expedia!
With the other bloggers and the CEO of AirAsiaExpedia, @kathleentan
All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go~~~~
Can’t imagine making travel plans without Expedia! I remember my parents going to travel agencies to book but now Fatty and I just have to go online on Expedia and book hotels and stuff.
I didn’t know Expedia had an app too so after the awards I downloaded it.
Hehehe. Bobo and I have really been discussing making a short trip somewhere since she and Huiwen know I’ve been wanting to get away. So we’ve really been on Expedia looking through hotels and the app makes it even easier!
Can filter how many stars hotels and some other criterias…
Click on the hotel and check out the details and photos. Even more user friendly than the Expedia website! 😀
You can also pick from the range of rooms available at the hotel.
And it will tell you the total price. The only thing left to do after this is log in to Expedia on the app and make the booking.
There’s even special deals available on the app only. Now we only need to coordinate our timings aih.
Wish me luck!!
For more info on Expedia and travel deals go to Expedia Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, @ExpediaAsia.
At the risk of sounding like an overly paranoid parent, I was glad the other day I got to sit down with Redmummy and Prof. Rahimah, an oral health expert working with Colgate to talk about dental health and hygiene, and pediatric dental issues.
Me looking very serious.
And truth be told, a bit scared.
As adults, most of us think we know all there is to know about teeth and dental hygiene. But I don’t think most of us have given teeth much thought beyond maybe our teenage years when we had braces. Most of us just go on auto pilot when it comes to dental hygiene – brush twice a day, floss or mouthwash. Maybe the more hardworking (cough Fatty cough) will use a tongue scraper.
But because Fighter is starting solids now and is bound to start teething soon, I’ve been quite worried about children and teeth. Cos even when I was a kid I used to see other kids with black spots on their milk teeth and think what’s going on at home why is nobody brushing their teeth for them.
So it was a good opportunity for me to talk to an oral health expert.
Here are some key points we picked up:
The difference between caries and cavities
Caries is the process that causes cavities, which are holes in the teeth. Caries is caused by bacteria that’s present in everyone’s mouths which converts carbs and sugar to acid in our mouths. And this acid erodes the enamel on our teeth through a process called demineralization. Saliva remineralizes the teeth, but if the teeth loses more minerals than can be put back, you get a cavity.
Brushing, flossing etc will keep your teeth clean to avoid overpopulation of bacteria but the bacteria will always be there and caries is always occurring in everyone’s mouths because most foods contain some form of sugar. Scary huh?
How to take care of your teeth?
Within 5 minutes of eating, the bacteria creates the acidic environment in our mouths already. And it takes saliva 30 minutes to neutralize this acidic environment. And if you eat very frequent meals this process goes on and your mouth doesn’t get a chance to neutralize.
Therefore to prevent caries, you need to brush teeth with toothpaste containing fluoride. Or drink fluorinated water (instead of sugary drinks) cos fluoride slows down the demineralization process. Cut down frequent consumption of sugar.
And use Colgate Maximum Protection Sugar Acid Neutralizer toothpaste. Hehehe.
As mentioned in my previous post, the toothpaste works to neutralize sugar acid in our mouths (assisting your saliva) to prevent caries. It’s the first sugar acid neutralizer toothpaste EVER.
How to take care of baby’s teeth?
Wah this one a bit stressful. For now, since Fighter has no teeth yet but tons of sugar in his mouth from his milk, Prof Rahimah advised me to take a clean cloth and wet it with warm water, then gently rub his gums with it. You can do it after every feed or just do it in the bath which sounds a lot easier. The point is to get baby used to caring for his teeth and inculcate good dental habits for the rest of his life.
When kids have teeth, the Colgate Maximum Protection Sugar Acid Neutralizer toothpaste can be used for them too. 🙂
Redmummy and I! We were served a special lunch at the briefing.
Digging in.
This is what we had. Malaysian style cuisine. If you don’t know what we had, it was kerabu mangga, kangkung belacan, pandan chicken, sweet and sour fish and sambal belacan. Also had tom yam soup and ice lemon tea. For dessert, sago gula Melaka.
Then after lunch, the Colgate revealed how much sugar is actually in the meal (and probably present in most local dishes too).
They asked us to guess and I grossly understated. RM said confirm I don’t cook cos I think there’s so much sugar in everything and I blindly followed her advice. But she was wrong!!! She must cook super healthily.
Shocking how much sugar we consumed in that one meal omg. 38 teaspoons of sugar for lunch is insane. Felt a tremendous urge to go brush my teeth after that. And then check my blood.
Me in shock. Hahaha.
The Colgate Maximum Protection plus Sugar Acid Neutralizer toothpaste is available in all supermarkets and pharmacies now!
So last week we took Fighter on a little trip – his first ever, in fact! – to Singapore for my mother in law’s birthday.
Last week when we met Vivy and Fadza we asked them how was their experience taking Baby D to Bali. They said “Never again!” wtf.
Never say never but our trip was…. challenging.
Fatty thinks it’s because we had to take care of Fighter 24/7 (in this case, 24/4 wtf) ourselves but I don’t think so. I don’t really mind the night wakings and midnight feeds but I think it was the being in a new environment surrounded by new people that threw Fighter off. As much as we tried to keep to his schedule, we also had to work around dinners and lunches… and it wasn’t pretty wtf.
He’s generally quite a happy baby but he has a terrible temper. FOL. Obviously he got it from his daddy wtf *sniffs* So whenever he got angry or upset he’d yell the whole house down. If I was carrying him I worried for my eardrums.
Photobomb!! One of his happy moments.
Obviously all the photos here are when he’s happy la wtf. Don’t exactly have time or the presence of mind (or the intention) to take photos when we’s shrieking.

The night before the trip. Fatty thought it would be funny if we took a picture of Fighter at the airport wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses like a celebrity. Sadly, his only baseball cap (a present from Rina, Mimi, Lilian, Angie and personalized with his name on the side) is now too small for him even before he got to wear it even once wtf.

A bear hat just doesn’t have the same effect wtf.
One afternoon we took him to see Auntie Qiu and Josh and Pearl Ang, Qiu’s sister who Fatty refers to as Pear Lang WTF.
Babyzilla at work.
He super loves Qiu la cos she played with him for more than an hour straight. I swear he thought he died and went to heaven wtf.
Qiu introducing a new stuffed animal to him.
A Rabbit Friend? For me?
His favorite hobby – chilling on the bed while people hover over him and entertain him wtf.
Adeline (sister in law) aka experienced mommy of 3 kids got him hanging toys to put on his stroller/carrier! Best idea ever because he was totally entranced and gave me about ten minutes to eat my dinner in peace wtf.
Also went to visit Aunty Wendy.
This picture also quite funny cos Fighter looks enraptured by Wendy (yea, he normally likes young pretty girls wtf ಠ_ಠ) and Dash is playing oblivious behind hahahaha.
Now it’s Mike behind wtf.
Here’s BB Dash! His expressions really damn funny la so complex like that! Wendy told us he’s very independent normally and not attached to anyone, but at one point when Wendy was carrying Fighter, Dash did a pretend cry so I guess he is attached to her!
He’s so tall now omg. Granted I only saw him once when he was a few days old la wtf but still! He’s half my size wtf. I’m quite worried that when Fighter gets bigger I won’t be able to carry him but if I can pick Dash up then okay la!
After a few minutes he got tired of me carrying him and put his hand on my chest and shoved me hard wtf hahahahaha. Okok I get the message loud and clear lolol.
Note to self: Buy Fighter more toys that light up and make noises wtf. He loves Dash’s thingamajig. I have no clue what to get kids as toys one. :X Because before this not interested in kids one lol.
“Who are you? Where’s my Daddy!?”
“Get away from me you strange man!”
Hahahahahaha hilarious. I was hiding Fighter away in a room so I didn’t see this but Wendy said he’s not used to seeing non-white men WTF really ornot!?
Yea and I was hiding Fighter away for him to take his nap. I thought all would be well cos we’re sticking to his schedule right?
WRONG!
Fighter woke up from his nap and I brought him out to the living room, where he proceeded to wail unceasingly for absolutely no reason at all. FML.
No amount of coaxing and distraction would do! Sing songs, give him ipad, turn on TV, run around galloping like a horse with horsey sounds, toys, all also cannot. EVEN MY BOOBS FAILED ME. Felt quite bad about bringing this mini hurricane into Mike and Wendy’s house tbh.
Changed his diaper and couldn’t even get him back into his pants cos he was crying so much.
Therefore this was the best photo we could take of Dash and Fighter together wtf. Luckily Dash was totally unfazed by Fighter’s screaming! He just continued to sit there and chill with his iPad (and the toy in his mouth lolol).

Brought him back to the hotel and he was happy again. ಠ_ಠ

Came home and stopped by my grandma’s place since it was on the way back from the airport. Here he is looking happy again but earlier he started his terrifying screaming again. T____T

On the way home. Probably tired himself out with all the crying. -_-
I concluded that he was probably overstimulated la. New environments day after day, new people meeting and carrying him. When he woke up from his nap at Wendy’s house it was in a strange room which probably disconcerted him.
Then maybe he thought we were going home already but we made one last stop at my grandma’s wtf. If I were him maybe I’d throw a fit too.
Anyway so that was our first ever trip as a family. I will resist saying never again because….yes again! I really need to go somewhere I’ve been cooped up for nearly a year already with no trips anywhere except the occasional one back to Penang (which doesn’t count because it’s always hectic and filled with familial obligations).
Ok that’s all yo. Trying to catch up with all my due drafts and work, all from one exhausting weekend in Singapore. T___T
P/S: Categorizing this as AudSlave because I sure felt like it this weekend wtf.
Felt like writing a thoughtful introspective post but… no time!!! Heading to Singapore tomorrow cos Fatty has some work as well as to celebrate my mother in law’s birthday. Just finished packing only, and the entire day I was running around doing some last minute errands and picking up groceries for dinner which I forgot to order from Tesco… as well as attend the Expedia Awards (more on this later!). Luckily Fatty was nice enough to pack his own stuff so I only had to worry about mine and Fighter’s.
Fighter’s one extra mafan this time because I’ve started him on solids so I had to pack his cereal and eating utensils in addition to his clothes and milk bottles.
Anyway just a quick one hor.
Last weekend we attended the wedding of one of my oldest and dearest friends (whom I’m still close with la wtf). We met in Standard 3 but only became close in Standard 5 because we joined marching band together (yea you bet we were popular wtf).
She lives in Perth now with her husband and we only probably get to meet once a year when she comes back but she’s the kind of friend who even if we never meet, whenever we do it’s like we never were separated! She hasn’t changed (at least I don’t think so) and even if I have, it’s as though I revert to my fourteen year old self around her.
We’ve been friends so long that our families know each other quite well also and she invited my parents and Ooib too! In fact our entire table was made up of my family (except for another friend and her husband who thought I thickskinned brought along my whole family and take up a whole table fml).
I had the worst seat at the table wtf. *crosses arms. This was taken by Fat Her, my view was actually of that floral stand thing on the left wtf so I couldn’t see anything. Funny because it’s my friend ok hahahaha. But I wanted to sit there so I could keep Fighter in a corner and he wouldn’t make noise.
It was definitely one of the nicest, most intimate weddings I’ve ever attended! Cos it was only 10 tables, everyone there was either a family member or a close friend so the vibes and atmosphere was so warm!
Here’s us doing the yam seng! The actual wedding was held in Perth and this was more of an introduction/announcement dinner to friends and family back home so there were no bridesmaids. So all the close friends got pulled up to do yam seng! My first time leh, I’ve only been a bridesmaid once (for Bobo) and that time I had to leave early cos Kim and Gareth’s wedding was on the same night so I literally divided myself into two for both weddings.
Here’s Fatty and Fighter.
Grandma too happy to see Fighter until nearly forgot there was a wedding going on WTF.
Family picture!
Audfit – top from Nastygal, skirt from Younghungryfree.
Me and Big Fat.
Me and Small Fat.
Small Fat being very entertained by Grand Fat Her.
Picture with the beautiful bride. Forgot to take with the groom WTF.
Congratulations Hsin and Ang Moh!!! So happy for you both and I know this is forever. May you both have an abundance of love, laughter, kindness, and if you want, kids in your lives. Hehehe.
P/S:
Totally unrelated but Fatty and I are trying to rent out our house because it’s too big for us just yet. It’s a semi detached colonial style house in a gated community called Mesra Terrace (5 minutes away from Publika), 4 + 1 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms. 3700+ sq feet build up.
Semi furnished. Living and dining areas are furnished, as is the kitchen which has an oven and a fridge. No beds but built in closets for all rooms.
Please email me at fourfeetnine[at]gmail.com if you’re interested! Serious renters only please. 😀
PP/S:
Saw quite a few people on Instagram asking about my shopping experience at Tesco Online. My experience has been really positive so far; do you guys have anything to share about your experience? I’m sure Tesco would want some feedback on how they’re doing. 😀

The last time I brushed my teeth in public was when I was in primary school and the roving truck with the dental nurses came to teach us how to brush our teeth. The best part was getting a free pink toothbrush when they came. As you can see, last time already very kiasu.
Last weekend I brushed my teeth in public with a pink toothbrush again! Ahahaha nostalgia.

It was at the launch of Colgate’s new Sugar Acid Neutralizer toothpaste last weekend.

Colgate Maximum Cavity Protection with Sugar Acid Neutralizer is the first ever toothpaste that neutralizes sugar acids which is the culprit behind caries and tooth cavities.
In normal toothpastes, fluoride is present which helps to prevent caries but sugar acids (which are present in most foods and are basically unavoidable, even if you don’t eat sugary foods) are the #1 source of cavities cos they attack and break down tooth enamel.
Touch wood but so far I’ve been quite lucky in that I don’t have any cavities! (yet.) But everyone else I know has – my parents, Fatty, my friends…
And Fighter’s teeth hygiene is something I’m quite kan cheong about. Now considered quite easy la, just bathe, feed and change diaper. But when he starts solids? Omg. Puree la, cook porridge la, then when teeth comes in have to keep them clean. I’ve seen toddlers with black holes in their teeth I can’t imagine. Did their parents feed them sugar water or something.
Buddha forbid Fighter gets cavities! I’m determined Fighter grows up learning good dental hygiene. We’re off to a good start with the Colgate SAN hehehe.
With Redmummy! Haven’t seen her in forever man.

Got tooth brushing stations where we could try the toothpaste! Hahaha very cute.
Getting my toothpaste on.
They gave me a pink toothbrush! Actually I asked for it.

Felt a bit awkward brushing my teeth in public but for education and health’s sake! I shall persevere.
Also felt a bit stressed cos I feel like everyone is watching and judging if I brush correctly lolol. FYI, brush in circles and when brushing the insides of your molars (facing your tongue) must use the brush to flick out and away from the gums to clean any food remnants.
The Colgate SAN toothpaste is super minty and fresh tasting! I forced Fatty and Fighter to smell my breath hahaha. Sugar acids be gone!
Fighter just looked at me uncomprehendingly. Never mind, he will learn in time.
Then I made Fatty and our helper Nancy brush their teeth there and then too.

This statistic is insane!!! And to think I just drank a whole can of ice lemon tea today AND had a Frozen Fanta at the movies. Sigh all that sugar is probably wreaking havoc on my teeth and blood sugar.
No wonder so many people I know got cavities.

Enter Colgate with SAN.

Then there was also a very funny dance/skit featuring dancers who played either Teeth, Sugar Acids, or Colgate SAN Toothpaste to illustrate the toothpaste vanquishing the sugar acids and saving the teeth. Lolol.
Picked up a box of Sugar Acid Neutralizer toothpaste for my family. ^^ (who came with me yeah I have my personal cheerleading squad hehe)
Colgate Maximum Cavity Protection plus Sugar Acid Neutralizer is now available everywhere so go ahead and try it!
Last night was Nuffnang’s 7th birthday bash, Malaysian edition.
Nuffnang actually turned 7 in February, so this was a slightly belated celebration.
I’m super proud of my Fatty and all he’s achieved in these seven years. Of course there is a healthy dose of luck involved (doing the right thing at the right time and place) but Tim and Ming have taken Nuffnang and their other companies to the heights they’re at today with hard work, insight, some mistakes and tuition fees wtf and a whole lot of heart. Most crucially (to me at least) they did it without compromising their integrity, honesty and beliefs, and I love Fatty all the more for it. ^^
I think I probably mentioned this before but for the sake of nostalgia! (And senility wtf) I will reminisce again. I signed up with Nuffnang way back in 2007 when they had just barely started and they didn’t even have a KL office yet; the office was Fatty’s apartment – the same apartment we live in now wtf.
It was the summer before my senior year and I was interning at an ad agency called Dentsu. Suet was also interning – at a company called Nuffnang. In fact she was Nuffnang’s first ever intern! She told me to register with them because I could earn money from putting ads on my blog. I doubtfully agreed but privately I thought it was a scam wtf.
Even worse, every morning when Fat Her dropped me off at the Dentsu office, Suet tagged along too. And her boss, Fatty, would pick her up from there and bring him back to his HOUSE to do work. Can it get any dodgier!?!? I was quite concerned and I probably told her to keep scissors in her bag in case he tried anything funny WTF.
Then one day my boss at Dentsu was looking at new ways to advertise using bloggers. And I remembered Suet’s company! So I called her up and she sent me her boss’s number. And I called him and that was the first time I spoke to Fatty. I don’t remember much but I probably explained briefly what I was calling about and then passed the phone to my superior.
A few months later, I received my first check from them. RM50 or something hahaha. Since then obviously I realized Nuffnang was a legitimate company, Nuffnang took off, and the rest is history.
Besides some of my best friends, it’s through Nuffnang (and Kenny and Su Ann) that I met my husband also, so… I owe them a lot la hahahaha.
Also through Nuffnang I met my favorite fashion power couple (and fashion super baby Daniel).
Fatty, Fighter and I dropped by Fashionvalet to see Vivy and Fadza and catch up over lunch.
Baby daddies talking bizness.
While an antisocial Fighter naps. Probably tired out from all the socializing he had to do earlier…

Fighter, meet Daniel.
Baby D will confirm turn out gorgeous! Compared to him, suddenly Fighter’s eyes also become sepet hahahaha. And his unibrow was never more obvious hahahaha.

“Dude dude come back, they’re taking our pikchur!”
Daniel has reached the people-shy stage of babyhood. While Fighter… Fighter why is your tongue sticking out so unattractively? 0.0

There a better picture. Fighter is clearly damn well trained when it comes to the camera hahaha.
Oh and here’s some photos from the #Nuffnangis007 birthday bash. The theme is 007 for obvious reasons. I googled Bond girls and figured there’s no real look to them except they all look polished and put together even when they’re kicking ass/being damsel in distress so just wear nicely can already la wtf.

Makeup of the night! Spent more time than normal doing makeup this time. Actually the difference is I just put eyeshadow primer and did my undereyes (I normally leave them makeupless)
We didn’t bring Fighter cos the party was at Barbecue Garden (at Life Center) which as its name suggests is an outdoor bbq restaurant. Scared too smoky and noisy for him. Plus I may be paranoid but I was worried I’d have to refuse 200 people who might wanna carry him.
(digression: the other day we were at a restaurant we often frequent and the waitresses wanted to carry Fighter. She put her arms out to Fighter and said, “Come I carry you go take walk outside, you want?”
WAH LAU. Carry is one thing, take a walk outside is another excuse me!?!? And didn’t ask me directly also, she was talking to Fighter! Why would I let her take my baby outside?! I’m sorry I’m not in the habit of letting people I don’t know carry my baby lo! Who knows where your hands have been wtf. Also, who knows who you are? WTF.)
So yeah. I am quite paranoid about germs ever since Fighter’s last cold and also, some people just irritatingly pick him up then waltz away from us like it’s no big deal! FYI, it is an extremely big deal to a parent, because we worry and we can’t rest when we’re frantically scanning the room and watching you travel around with our baby. /digression end)

OOTD and Audfit shot! My top and skirt is from Younghungryfree, shoes are Melissa X Karl Lagerfeld, bag is Laguna Moon. Necklace I can’t remember wtf.
With Jo (who actually fits the theme ‘007 in the Amazon’ perfectly but he complain he look like samseng hahaha), Bobo, Brian, Povy, Fats, Jasiminne and Nana.
With Nana (who looks like Lara Croft actually haha), Cherrie and Daphne.
With Fayth and Janice!
Another one of me and Bobo. She colored her hair silver but the color faded so fast! So now she looks like Mehlin Monroe hahaha even her outfit is similar.
With Brian who has better skin than me. >_>
Me and Povy had similar outfits!
Petronas Triplet Towers and the bridge wtf.
Tim to cut cake! #badpun
Best birthday cake ever! Fit the theme perfectly haha. Top tier is a gun and a suit (Barney Stinson would approve), middle is the Nuffnang Stickman appropriately dressed in a tux. Hahaha I love this cake.
Got cupcakes as well! Again very appropriately 007 themed.
Me and Fatty again! The end.
There’s two things I’d order whenever I step into a McDonald’s.
Either a Chicken McNuggets McValue meal, or….
A Spicy Chicken McDeluxe!!! (set of course)
I grew up eating Chicken McNuggets and Chicken McNuggets are always a very convenient food – easy to tapau and easier to eat in the car compared to anything else. (not that I’m condoning eating while driving)
But if I have time to sit down, it’s always a Spicy Chicken McDeluxe. ^^
There’s nothing like a Spicy Chicken McDeluxe burger – the red chilli spiciness of the burger is countered nicely by the creamy mayo. The addition of the crispy lettuce makes for a great balance too! And mostly, the chicken is always hot and inviting, and juicy.
Wah I write about it now hungry already. *wipes drool with back of hand
The good news is, there’s a menu item in town.
It’s called the Black Pepper Spicy Chicken McDeluxe.
Black pepper is a great favorite among Malaysians so this is bound to be a hit! I had the chance to try it the first day it launched. Instead of the red hot spiciness of the regular Spicy Chicken McDeluxe, Black Pepper is – stating the obvious but – spicy in a peppery way. The chicken and burger itself is standardly delicious as usual.
I super love peppery dishes also so I cannot decide which one I like more! Ahhh spicy chicken why you so yummy.
Both Spicy Chicken McDeluxe and Black Pepper Spicy Chicken McDeluxe are available for Ala Carte, McValue Lunch & Dinner, and comes with Passionfruit McFizz.
Namee Roslan and I were given the opportunity to participate in a sort of ‘face off’ contest. Hahaha. Namee loves both flavors too so the challenge is to decide who matches the red hot chilli flavor, and who fits the black heat pepper flavor.
So we did a photoshoot and dressed in either all red, or all black to see who embodies which flavor better.
Me in all black! Black heat is more of a mysterious, smoldering allure so I was supposed to act mysterious.
It is damn hard! Normally for photoshoots I either just portray myself or I act cute and happy. Hahahaha. And I am good at it wtf. If acting cute was a marketable skill, I’d make lots of money wtf.
This was the first time I had to act…. mysterious. So I tried to act like I know something you dunno and put on a knowing smirk but I kept wanting to burst out laughing FML.
Then I tried to put on sunglasses because mysterious! But I looked blind hahahahha.
Pass or not?
Next shot was for red hot which is about being fierce and in your face. As my default persona is laughing so it was a challenge la hahaaha. I can be fierce but I think it only comes when I am very angry already and it takes quite a bit to make me mad.
But I did my best! And it was quite fun to try to portray different sides of myself for a change.
The resulting visuals!
Me and Namee in red for Red Hot…
And black for Black Heat.
There was also a video shoot as part of it.
My default persona lol.
Licking off mayo between takes. Really very yummy leh the burgers hahaha.
Om nom nom nom.
Omg I look so gentle and mature here! My dream is always to become gentle and mature AHAHA.
Here’s the video we shot. I look super hiao here HAHAAHAH I wanna die.
So which one fits me better? Or which look do I look nicer in wtf. Black heat or red hot?
Vote which flavor/color suits me more (and Namee will be the other one) and 1,000 voters from the majority voted combination will win RM5 McDonald’s vouchers each!
