It’s October Break!
Us oldies took a break from our senior year independent studies and whatnot and went to Boston for the weekend.
I brought my books too just to make myself feel less guilty. But dunno for what also because obviously I didn’t open one page there.
But really I am so excited about my independent study! An independent study is an optional project of interest you undertake by yourself with the help of an adviser. You think up the topic and plan out your own coursework and readings and by the end you should produce a research paper on it.
When I first thought of my topic I was really interested but I didn’t think I would be able to do it. Read all those books, conduct historical research and interviews and actually put together a paper that could go up to 100 pages? Plus all this would be on my own willpower alone – nobody would be telling me to do my work and there would be no deadlines other than the ones I impose on myself. But it’s somehow slowly but surely coming together and it feels really good 🙂
And and I might be going to London in November to do research for it! Cos I chose to do my ind study on Malaysian History and May 13, and most of the records and primary sources are in the Public Records Office in England!
Still trying to work out if I really need to go there for it though.
And I’m going to Vancouver in December for winter break wheee! I just checked my mileage points and I do have enough for a free flight to Canada so I’m going!:)
Boston pales in comparison to London and Vancouver wtf.
No la I really like Boston! Somemore so near very convenient ok I can come back faster and study wtf wtf.
Me and Angie rock-paper-scissored to see who got to sit shotgun in Mild’s car. I lost wtf. But Mild said whoever is better at directions gets to sit in front and my directions are very good especially in shopping malls wtf so I won.
But win for what, sit in the front means I have to stay awake and teman Mild while she’s driving when my natural tendency is to fall asleep after sitting for 5 minutes in any car wtf. Damn suffering mmkay. Now I know why I always sit at the back. Plus Mild drives a soccer mom car (mpv that can fit a lot of kids) so there’s a lot of space for Angie to sleep behind *sour.
And Mild is very sensitive about driving such a mature car hahaha when we were waiting at the toll, she said “Look the car next to me is the same model and there’s a kid in there” wtf hahahahahaa so I said “I’ll be your kid if you want” and she just got more depressed wtf.
She didn’t even get to finish her lunch cos she was driving! Here she finally eats it out of both hands wtf.

Yaya don’t ask why I’m wearing the same dress you think I very rich can buy a new dress everyday ar wtf. Actually I felt like I didn’t get the most out of this dress wtf that’s why I wore it again.
We went to a place called Mantra where the deco was nice but the dj wasn’t. Where is my Promiscuous Girl dammit.
But they had “Soulja Boy Off In This Hoe, Watch Me Crank It, Watch Me Roll, Watch Me Crank Dat Soulja Boy, Then Super Man Dat Hoe!” wtf wtf. You know the dance or not! We learned it in hiphop class that’s how I know how to do it wtf. Haih my face why like that.

It was a miracle that all 4 of us could shower so quickly and sleep (eh sorry 3 because Angie didn’t shower pooh) with just one bathroom. Good system of one person showering one person using the sink simultaneously wtf. And a miracle that I slept with damp hair but I still had an amazing hair day!

Mild and Jeannie. It’s also a miracle how they’ve been roommates for 2 years because they’re the total opposite of each other. Jeannie is super manja and sa jiao and always causing trouble for Mild (i.e. kicking her off the bed onto the couch in the middle of the night wtf) while Mild is always super calm and says everything with a deadpan face.
Jeannie is also super reckless, and once we were trying to get across the freeway to the opposite lane but the cars were moving too fast and Jeannie asked “Do you think I can turn right here?” and Mild just said in a calm voice “No it’s too dangerous. But I’ll close my eyes and you can do whatever you want.” wtf hahahahahaha.
Angela also causes trouble for me ok! In the middle of the night she woke up looking for the pillow she was hugging and it was right on top of my face wtf what if I suffocated and died! Since I won’t even wake up if there’s a fire alarm what makes you think I’ll wake up in a simple matter such as a pillow cutting off my air supply wtf.
From friends to lovers wtf. Sambo and David. David said “Audrey is a cute name, I wish my name was Audrey” and then he proceeded to call me Andrew for the whole day wtf.

Oh we found the most magical medicine in the world! It’s actually for acid but if you take it before you drink then you don’t get red! Here I look red cos of the light la ok and I guess at times you do turn red a little, but only for a few minutes then the pill works its magic and you go back to normal color *in awe wtf.

i know what you mean about the self-motivation…i have a 3,000 word gender studies project due in two weeks and i chose to write about racism/sexism in archie comics o_O i dunno how i’m gonna do it. hope your project goes well! so exciting 😀 if its really good get it published ok then you can be famous because the govt will be after you! 😀
