It ees true T_______T
Based on an 8% interest rate and a 3.8 USD exchange rate I have a RM 140,000 loan to pay off T___________T
I just wrote my mom a RM4k check for my first payment T_______T I am so goddamn broke right now T______T
And since the loan repayment period is for 10 years it ees true… I can see myself not having savings for 10 years.
Tim asked me “how to go shopping like that?” cos I planned to go shopping this weekend.
Whatever la what can I do! Not go shopping or spend any money for the next 10 years ar are you out of your mind wtf. Imma just live my life dangerously Life is too short to suffer! *foolish
There’s no way out of the loan anyway. I read through the terms & conditions and the loan will only be canceled if:
a) I join the army WTF
b) I join the police force
c) I join the Peace Corps
d) I be a teacher for at least 5 years for students from low income communities wtf
e) I am permanently and totally disabled WTF
I really wanted to I could run from the loan (since I’m not in the US) but that would be a terrible thing to do:(
What if someone defaulted on THEIR loan and because of that the school didn’t have enough money to give me! I would never have gone to college!
Damn the devil to hell. Someone just hit me with a car already (make sure to get my legs) WTF NO LA NO LA ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME GOD I AM JUST A BIG JOKER wtf.

Hi Audrey, I am an international student in the US right now.I will be graduating soon, and I have a a sizable student loan as well. As I am planning what to do after my graduation..I am curious to know, why didn’t you stay in U.S to work? Wouldn’t it be easier when you’re earning a dollar for a dollar to repay the loan?
Never knew such terms existed. Interesting. But it only applies while you’re in US?
BLASPHEMY!!! BLASPHEMY BABY BLASPHEMY!!! TAKE IT DOWNNN!!!!! TAKE IT DOWNNN BEFORE HE STRIKES!!!
I think option D is not a bad idea. be a teacher quite free. can always go shopping after school.
Oh my gosh! Just converted it to pounds and that is alot! (Okay, shouldn’t really compare it to UKpounds since England is going very, very crap at the moment).
Woh,do you have a scheme with the loans where you pay certain amount of your paycheck to them?
Well you don’t have to pay the loan straight away so that’s good… even though it’s that amount (gobsmacked of that amount of money).
pitty you…loan can make you suffer sometimes right?…
its like your biggest debt that goes on for so long..
i think i should be grateful now as i don’t need to loan, that is bout CAD$50,000 for 2 years. equivalent to RM150,000
wow, did you sign for such loan for your study??? that’s is a lot of money to repay when you are not even started to earn $$ yet
wahhh can buy an apartment!
T__T
at least ur bf is a bit rich, so he still can bear SOME of your expenses.
my bf and i both are freshie and bear the same amount loan RESPECTIVELY.
“zha dao hak sek” -> beggar
oh wait..
Tim can plan another suprise for u again..
=_____=”
by clearing all your loan for you~
oh.. that will be the BESE surprise ever..
HAHAHAHAHAHHA~~~
Same here!!
Just graduated last year, just got my first real job last year too!
And it’s like, “Hi! now I can shop with my hard earn money now!”
And the loan people were like, “Hi! Your hard earn money needs to pay off the loan!”
WAH!!! RM140k. I would teach though I am allergic to schools woi…Besides, teaching is kinda fun. Half day only. =x
I can sense that u r panic in the last line. XD Pray hard that every other readers saw it too. Cuz you know, some people are just very helpful. =P Decided to grant ur wish then how?????

Yah the exchange rate is sucking big time for you right now.
puripuri: hahahah scared ok!
jade: ya i think guys have it so much better!
joe: it is!
carol: 2.5 hahahaha but if u think about it that way i wont have savings working in swak either:(
sweatlee: are u serious? ur not gonna earn much like that also its the same!
chelsea: i graduated around the same time the subprime thing hit. i couldn’t get a job in the US and nearly all my international friends couldn’t either. those that got job offers had them retracted soon after:( so i decided to come home to work instead.
arshana: i think it applies for all countries
boss stewie: i wasnt blaspheming! i was um praying
hiew: haha i dont think its as easy as that..

no la i’m just kidding. i just started teaching and its only 1 month and i’m suffocating T___T
Sarawak pay is almost as much as West M’sian pay. And most parts of Sarawak are as advanced as West Malaysia. There are still some rural areas in Sarawak but so does West Malaysia too.
Default on the laon would be the easoest thing to do. But how will one look at him/herself in the mirror after doing that? If you can then there’s something totally wicked with your morals and conscience. I hope that you are a better person than most people and better than I would be in your place. Think of it this way…RM 140k is the price you pay to look yourself in the mirror everyday after 10 years and KNOW that you are a good person. That’s cheap if you ask me because you can never ever buy self respect nor can you ever buy it back once lost..
You should take up a new loan to pay up your old one. The lending rates are very low now, definitely better than 8%. If you had done this 6 months ago, you’ll benefit from exchange rate too (RM3.3=US1) easily saving you another 10%. Aiyah, how come Tim never teach you all these?
Hi Audrey!
Am your on and off blog fan!
Din know you are on loan. I was forced to get a study loan too wif crazy Aus xchange rate THHHHAT high 2 yrs back.. Now working already… mebbe cos my job’s quite ok i din feel tat much pressure, YET.
But u seem so very happy while in US, and i’m sure ur experience gain is now ur asset! I also experience tat!
Best of luck to u ya!
ps: Luv ur blog, so funny, so honest, soo cool! n u’re so damn pretty! ;))
10 years is a long time. why not buy a parang and rob a bank. that should work..lol
luckily my study loan not that much..
no worries, tim ‘ll help
hi audry,
i just started reading ur blog last month. and i’m hooked ever since. u r so funny lah! i’ve been on loan since the last 4 years too(oh no! i’ve revealed that i’m old!) but not as much as yours though. been paying on and off *shy* was very impressed with N’s comment there! *tercabar*
hope u’ll find ur way bout it, gurl :p
btw, i stand as tall as u too (if that’s really ur most vertical state) :p hehe… and petite gurl are cute like that, no? *shameless*
olivia: haha! where are u teaching?
mindy: ya but teaching anywhere in malaysia is just not very viable cos of the low pay:( it would be the same thing cos even if i don’t have to pay my loan i still would have to struggle with my finances:(
N: ya some ppl have told me to just default on it because they wouldn’t be able to track me anyway but i think that’s a very unfair & mean thing to do to others who might need the money to study too:(
ronin: i did think of that! but i haven’t asked to see if they would give out a loan to a fresh grad..
suzanne: aww thank u! leave more comments! i like wtf
garychia: ya and then spend 20 yrs in jail wtf
raymond: haha good la!
jae:haha i can’t expect him to…it’s not his education
lv: awww thank u! wah ur my height too? of course short girls are cute la we look like dolls ok WTF *even more shameless
it’s a part time thing i’m still in college (: it’s like.. an 18 year old teaching 16-17 year olds wtf.
I have a massive loan that I have to pay back to my parents.. 🙁 Even without interest I would have to take all my life.. I just hope that they wont take the ‘pound was strong when you were in uni’ stance! aaarghhh….
Hello, I think you should join your soulmate to go to Japan for Jet ! We are accepting applications now !

hey Audrey,
you should have a donation box in your blog (Help Audrey get out of debt fund). I know people willing to help or do what kennysia would do. Shave all your hair off if they reach the target within a time period. Best of luck!

this is reality.. welcome to the working world. bills need to be paid and all. just ration your spending and i am sure you will be able to pay off the payments.
it is part of growing up and being responsible.
i agree with some readers that teaching for 5yrs might not be a bad idea. go figure out the present value of between the options and do as what is best for yourself.
goodluck
I think option “d” sounds feasible.
Worry not, Nuffnang to the rescue! wtf. 🙂
