Last week was Mumsy and Fat Her’s 30th anniversary!
A few months before, Fat Her was already very kan cheong, repeatedly buzzing me and Ooib and asking us for ideas on how to surprise Mummy Ooi, much to our amusement. We suggested whisking her off on a romantic trip, just the two of us, but they ended up going to Chiang Mai with about twelve friends.
The middle-aged party harder than us.
But Fat Her still wanted a celebration with the whole family I guess because Ooib and I are the products of those 30 years wtf. So celebratory dinner it was!
We made reservations at a home dining place, which is basically where you dine at someone’s home for a very different and exclusive experience, the home owner is usually the chef and restaurant staff and the menu is crafted specially for you.
This is Karl’s house wtf.
This was the dining area. I think the entire home can only take 18 patrons at a time.
Fat Her told Mummy Ooi it was going to be a dinner for two only, so Karl and his wife actually set out a fake table for two to bluff her when they came in hahaha.
Mum actually suspected we were solemnly up to no good and she called me the day before asking me “what’s going on tomorrow?”
I said, “what are you talking about? I have a whole day Samsung event to go to.”
She believed me. Gullible woman.
Before the Parents Ooi arrived, the three of us (me, Ooib and Sherlyn – Fats was off on his company trip) sneaked upstairs to hide.
Hastily writing out our card to them wtf. I wanted to write “thanks for our existence” hahahahah.

Parents came in, chatted with Karl and Ming, then settled down, unaware of our presence.
We sneaked down and shouted SURPRISE!
Sherlyn said my mom had tears in her eyes wtf I didn’t notice!
Karl explained to them, “we had a couple of intruders who sneaked upstairs unbeknownst to us” LOLOL.

Then settled down for food. Karl is Austrian so it was Austrian fare I guess. Cold cuts for appetizer super yummy.
Mushroom soup with about a billion chunks of mushroom in it. By the time I was done with this I was full wtf.
Food was fantastic but I was so stuffed I didn’t even bother taking pictures of the main course which was a lot of pork. Later take picture I puke how wtf.
Dessert which I thought was very interesting. Strawberries in vinegar with cream on top.
