Fighter’s first kick

The title already explains it all. Lol.

So my heartburn hasn’t abated.  I get it after nearly every meal (except breakfast thankfully) and lots of people have told me to take medicine which is apparently safe for pregnant women… but I have a phobia of medicine.  And I find that milk works for me and since I have to drink it anyway, I chug it by the gallon wtf.

Still it’s tiring. 🙁 And sometimes when the heartburn gets really bad, even milk doesn’t help.  Add that to regurgitation, acid and bile taste in my mouth fml and the occasional indigestion, my digestive life basically sucks.

And apparently it’s only going to get worse.

Makes me damn grumpy over all the pregnancy symptoms I’ve had so far.  Thankfully no stretch marks or linea nigra or protruding belly button (yet.  TOUCH WOOD)

But! But! Yesterday I had the most most most awesome pregnancy sign ever.  It nearly makes me willing to have worse heartburn than I do now.  Nearly la wtf.

I think I felt Fighter move. T___________T

A lot of people have been asking me if I’ve felt the baby kick and I’ve always had to give a dubious no.  Cos there have been times where I thought I felt something but I’m pretty sure it was just gas wtf.  Pretty sure cos there was a gurgling sound that came with it  And then a stomach ache wtf.

But yesterday afternoon I was lying on the bed wondering if I should give in to an afternoon nap.  Fatty was nuah-ing beside me and I had my hand absently on my tummy.

Then I had a very weird sensation.  Like something was swiping my tummy from inside WTF.   Hahahahaha so weird can you imagine!  As though this Fighter was giving me a turning kick from inside.

Fighter just kicked me!  Now kick all you want okay!  Don’t wait twenty years then kick me I will cut you, unfilial son wtf.

Immediately after that I realized that right before the swiping feeling, I had also been feeling slight tapping/twitching on my stomach which I ignored, assuming it was a muscle twitch.  But it could have been Fighter too!

Then this morning when I was at my computer, I felt two taps on my lower right side again.

And then after dinner, another two taps!

Maybe I should buy a morse code manual and read it out loud so Fighter can communicate with us WTF.

Ahhhh this makes me so happy. 😀  It really really makes all my heartburn worth it.

  • So amazing ya! I also felt the first movement last week ;)nNow I can feel her everyday. I doubted its my own tummy too at first but my gynae said its the baby 😉 hope your heart burn will get better and enjoy your pregnancy!

  • Hello fr S’pore! Never commented before but I’ve been reading you for a while and I love you and Tim’s wacky sense of humor. You’ll have lots of fun w the ‘morse code’ kicking I tell ya. I was also pretty amazed that when I got used to the kicking, my son and I were able to ‘communicate’. We played a little ‘tap tap tennis’. He taps one, I tap back, he taps again, I tap again. Very fun, try it! nPS. Hope you feel better soon! I had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy and had to watch my diet like a hawk. fml, felt like it’s almost not worth being pregnant if you can’t eat what you want, but when the baby arrives it’s totally worth it, of course.

  • Hello! Just want to say that sometimes the milk can make heartburn worse. When its hurting and u drink it, it gets better, but it can have a later effect on making it worse D=

  • yea after i read your comment i googled and you’re right! but somehow milk and ice cream does work for me and really makes me feel better. 🙂

  • hi! just curious, when did you develop the diabetes? 🙁

  • yea that’s what i heard about the heartburn too 🙁 that’s an awesome idea — the ice pack! i might try it too if it gets too unbearable. thanks! hahaha

  • sllfa

  • ahh i remember your name from years ago hello!nni’m curious where you got your info that calcium supplements > milk? every article and study i’ve read has said that they’ve found milk (and other calcium rich foods) is a better more efficient way of getting calcium than supplements. even if not better, the least is milk is at least as good as calcium supplements, and they advise to only take supplements if you can’t get calcium in other ways.n

  • the only articles i’ve found saying calcium supps are better are from pharmaceutical companies wtf. :X

  • T________________T you wrote in such detail … I wanna cry again because I can feel your joy while reading it T__________T

  • Thanks Audrey! I actually replied lvbeii too hoping to get a reply because the reasoning she quoted was totally at odds with what I had read before. Plus my doctor told me to just drink milk and not bother with calcium supplements. nn

  • Ahh I remember you from years ago! Where did you get your information from though? What you said seems totally the opposite of what articles and studies I’ve read say. Even my doctor says to drink milk. Where is ur info from?

  • I’m so excited for you Audrey! Hopefully your heartburn (and all your other undesirable preggy symptoms) will get alot better with time!

  • Milk worked for me 😉 at first i took gaviscon.its safe for preggies accordingly to the pharmacist. then after reading from motherhood forum that milk does help,i take about 1/2 glass of milk before every meal. No more heartburns from then on.

  • This is so amazing can’t wait till you you give birth to your fighter! Hope your heart burn problems will get better and take care, looking forward to your new update..
