I’m sitting here typing this with one hand and cradling Fighter with the other because he’s been very clingy today — he’s sleeping on my chest and every so often he’ll stir, let out a cry and cling harder to me (usually grabbing my hair haih Fighter please I’m bald enough as it is wtf).
Super clingy la never see him like this before!
All because he went for his first round of immunizations today.
Blisfully unaware in the morning wtf. His face. ಠ_ಠ
His onesie is from our friend Mehlin. Super lucky baby la until today I don’t even own a Ralph Lauren shirt myself. And Fatty’s ones are all fake WTF.
At the waiting room, a sense of foreboding suddenly looms wtf.
No la of course not hahahaha. He was still blissfully unaware and this face is pure coincidence.
Fatty and I on the other hand were quivering with fear. Every time the door to the doctor’s office opened, my heart would start pounding and I felt how I normally feel right before I do public speaking. Although the only speech I’d probably have to do then is to explain to the doctor why I’m crying wtf. How would I… I mean Fighter… be able to take this!?
Fighter and I must still be connected by an invisible telepathic umbilical cord because he started moving his limbs and smacking his lips which meant he wanted to eat. Fighter you so smart! You purposely want to delay things is it! I importantly rushed him through to the back where there was an empty room and proceeded to feed him.
“Jude? Jude’s mommy? You can go in now.”
Oh dammit.
Dr Ananda who truth be told is the nicest doctor ever and who probably saved Fighter’s life examines him.
He finally realizes what’s happening.
I’ve read accounts by other parents who say that their babies were happy and smiling trustingly at the doctors until the second the needle goes in.
Not Fighter. When the doctor swabbed his thigh with alcohol he threw the doctor a death glare and went, “urhprpgpgphpgph”.
Needless to say when the needle went in, it was pandemonium. His face became all mouth and he let out a hellraising wail. Next time I’ll record it and use it as our car alarm wtf.
Jokes aside, it was horrible for us. I kept stroking his hair and telling him he was a brave boy and found myself blinking back tears, while Fatty hovered around looking for an opportunity to swoop in and pick him up and comfort him.
He cried so much he started choking and coughing. T_________T Which agitated him further and he cried even more. T__________T
The doctor finished what he was doing and handed him to me.
And wonders of all wonders it was over as quick as it began! Fighter stopped crying and looked around calmly. And snuggled up against me.
What a brave boy!!! I certainly expected much worse and having to carry him home crying all the way or something. Courageous genes definitely not from me.
My parents told me when I was a baby as soon as I saw the doctor I’d start crying. And that I cried so much the doctor cried too WTF. I don’t know if this is believable or not seriously.
“This doctor is no good, Mommy. Don’t bring me here again.”
Fatty cuddling Fighter while I sorted out his next appointment and the bill.
So far no fever, we’re watching him closely. He’s just crankier than usual which should hopefully pass by tomorrow!
P/S: Idiots on Instagram. I swear there should be an IQ/general knowledge test to pass before you’re allowed on the internet.

I’ve never heard of toxicity in vaccines before! Excuse my nerdiness but for interest sake, I have read that its not the most “efficient” way to immunise babies, and they’re actually trying to come up with a technology to devise antibodies specific to each baby, based on the mother and certain gene patterns. But for now, of course vaccines are the only thing we have, why would people suggest otherwise? :/

Vaccination is most important to babies as they have yet the antibodies. Ignore those anti-immunization folks. There is a group of them out there that includes doctors. Ridiculous people. I won’t want my children to mingle too much with theirs.

Unfortunately, newspapers love to scare the general public with OMG THERES MERCURY IN VACCINES, YOUR KID WILL GET AUTISM!! reports and don’t encourage you to do a bit of reading yourself -.- Yes Formaldehyde is used in some vaccines – it’s there to stop harmful bacteria growing. Then again it’s also used in cosmetics like nail varnish and the brazillian hair treatment, its on food etc… and *shock* your body is capable of breaking it down.
I have lots of respect for you and Tim:) sometimes reading the comments your Instagram makes my angry. But I admire the way you took it all in a positive way:)
I totally can relate to this post. I started crying when we reached the clinic … after a few more jabs … I got use to it … I think I cried longer than my baby. Don’t let other people’s ignorance get you down , thank god we don’t go round posting dumb comments & make a fool of ourselves! Have a good day !

Hi, I have been a silent reader for a while. Just felt compelled to comment on the vaccination issue. There will always be two camps on this issue. I believed it’s up to each parents to read up on it and decide based on their belief. But I worked in the medical field and so far I have seen the implications of not immunizing your child but have yet to meet any child harmed by the vaccine.
I watched Fighter grow each day since day 1. Thanks for your postings & keeping us updated. Fighter is getting cuter each day. :-)nDun care about those ppl who love to talk nonsense. CHEERS Aud!
Haha! The part where you said your cries made the doc cry made me laugh! Gd job mummy n fighter! In Singapore, we usually have to carry the baby while the nurse jabs the baby. N I always force my hubby to be the one to carry my son. Now that I’m a second time mother. I’m ok with carrying bb while she’s being jabbed! Jiayou oh! Always anticipating to ur new blog entries :)))

I’ve been reading your blog on and off after the big proposal. =) I’m happy reading on Fighter’s progress. Shows to a lot of girls out there that there are better things to come after a proposal. =)
when i was a baby whenever my mom passed by the clinic i would cling on tight. when she walked in i would start crying. when i could walk / run, i would walk out the door / run out of the door. doctors and nurses had to hold all my hands and legs just for a jab 😡

No I didn’t. At the time he was so small I didn’t want to have to take any blood from his system; he needs all he can get!
Isn’t it illegal NOT to get immunizations?! (Since I’m American I don’t know about outside the USA but still!) Either way, people who criticize for that and how someone raises their child…just wtf @.@ Just keep doing your thing and raising your child to the best of your abilities, because so far you guys have done well 🙂 Fighter has grown so big and I’m so glad to get to watch his wonderful growth from Instagram and your blog <3
