The last time I brushed my teeth in public was when I was in primary school and the roving truck with the dental nurses came to teach us how to brush our teeth. The best part was getting a free pink toothbrush when they came. As you can see, last time already very kiasu.
Last weekend I brushed my teeth in public with a pink toothbrush again! Ahahaha nostalgia.
It was at the launch of Colgate’s new Sugar Acid Neutralizer toothpaste last weekend.
Colgate Maximum Cavity Protection with Sugar Acid Neutralizer is the first ever toothpaste that neutralizes sugar acids which is the culprit behind caries and tooth cavities.
In normal toothpastes, fluoride is present which helps to prevent caries but sugar acids (which are present in most foods and are basically unavoidable, even if you don’t eat sugary foods) are the #1 source of cavities cos they attack and break down tooth enamel.
Touch wood but so far I’ve been quite lucky in that I don’t have any cavities! (yet.) But everyone else I know has – my parents, Fatty, my friends…
And Fighter’s teeth hygiene is something I’m quite kan cheong about. Now considered quite easy la, just bathe, feed and change diaper. But when he starts solids? Omg. Puree la, cook porridge la, then when teeth comes in have to keep them clean. I’ve seen toddlers with black holes in their teeth I can’t imagine. Did their parents feed them sugar water or something.
Buddha forbid Fighter gets cavities! I’m determined Fighter grows up learning good dental hygiene. We’re off to a good start with the Colgate SAN hehehe.
With Redmummy! Haven’t seen her in forever man.
Got tooth brushing stations where we could try the toothpaste! Hahaha very cute.
Getting my toothpaste on.
They gave me a pink toothbrush! Actually I asked for it.
Felt a bit awkward brushing my teeth in public but for education and health’s sake! I shall persevere.
Also felt a bit stressed cos I feel like everyone is watching and judging if I brush correctly lolol. FYI, brush in circles and when brushing the insides of your molars (facing your tongue) must use the brush to flick out and away from the gums to clean any food remnants.
The Colgate SAN toothpaste is super minty and fresh tasting! I forced Fatty and Fighter to smell my breath hahaha. Sugar acids be gone!
Fighter just looked at me uncomprehendingly. Never mind, he will learn in time.
Then I made Fatty and our helper Nancy brush their teeth there and then too.
This statistic is insane!!! And to think I just drank a whole can of ice lemon tea today AND had a Frozen Fanta at the movies. Sigh all that sugar is probably wreaking havoc on my teeth and blood sugar.
No wonder so many people I know got cavities.
Enter Colgate with SAN.
Then there was also a very funny dance/skit featuring dancers who played either Teeth, Sugar Acids, or Colgate SAN Toothpaste to illustrate the toothpaste vanquishing the sugar acids and saving the teeth. Lolol.
Picked up a box of Sugar Acid Neutralizer toothpaste for my family. ^^ (who came with me yeah I have my personal cheerleading squad hehe)
Colgate Maximum Cavity Protection plus Sugar Acid Neutralizer is now available everywhere so go ahead and try it!
