I would like to give my two cents’ worth regarding your trouble with Penny and I hope it works for you!
My Mom told me that when i was a baby, I am always screaming and crying when they put me to sleep at night, but I sleep really well in the day. THey had no choice but to put me to sleep with them on their bed instead.
I grew up being afraid of the dark and I still do. I am already 24 now. LOL
So perhaps…. Penny could be afraid of the dark? Maybe you can trying leaving a dim lamp on while she sleeps at night and see what happens. Good luck! 😀
