Every Malaysian has been following the development of our politics leading up to election lah no doubt.
Fatty and I are no different except I am damn hormonal now and my blood pressure skyrockets every time I read yet another piece of news reporting the ridiculousness (and disgustingness) of the situation we’re in.
(shit later kena diagnosed with preeclampsia fml)
Anyway the latest developments today include the attempted sabotage of DAP’s plans to compete in the elections by the Registrar of Societies and the attempt by authorities to prevent Malaysians residing in Singapore coming home to vote by saying Malaysians coming home to vote on May 5 can only cross in a Malaysian-registered vehicle (WTF?)
This is just blatant abuse of our human and constitutional rights.
Fatty asked me just now: “How much would it take to buy your vote?”
Me: “Nothing. It’s like Mastercard. Priceless.”
Fatty: “One million?”
Me: “No.” *keeps eating chicken rice
Fatty: “100 million?”
Me: “No! It’s not about the money. It’s that it would make me the same as Hee Yit Foong.”
Fatty: “If you had 100 million, you could take it and donate it to whichever political party you wanted.”
Me: “That’s like helping kill someone then trying to compensate by paying off his family!”
Normally I already get damn angry over all these cheating and scummy tricks but now I think I’m even more upset, not only cos of the hormones but cos I keep thinking about Fighter who’s gonna be here by the end of the year.
Malaysia is nothing like Myanmar or Egypt – we are relatively very stable and peaceful, but my heart damn pain when I think of all the money and resources being wasted/hoarded by corrupt figures of authority. Surely Fighter deserves to be born in a country with a better government, a fairer political and social environment, and guaranteed human and constitutional rights?
Fatty asked: “Do you wish we moved to the Bay Area instead? So Fighter can grow up there?”
(at one point we briefly considered moving to San Fran because we loved it there ahaha)
Me: “No. He has to grow up here because he’s Malaysian first. If he wants he can pick somewhere else to move to when he grows up.”

wah i like your spirit!!!!!! grow up in Malaysia cause he is Malaysian and pick somewhere else he wants!! HE!!!! hehehehee
Hey aud! (: I’m a 19 year old malaysian girl who recently took up a singaporean citizenship with my parents. I think fighter is very blessed to have parents like you and Tim. And although some people think that you’re bimbotic/superficial and whatsoever, I think feeling a sense of ownership towards malaysia and caring so much about malaysian politics even though it seems so screwed up really shows your maturity and depth. I’ve heard my malaysian relatives complain so much. Would be great if half of the malaysians were like you ! (: nHope fighter grows up big and strong!!
Malaysia Junior coming soon:)nnhttp://passionsofchica.blogspot.com/n
yes to being malaysian first!!!!! i still can’t believe they will be enforcing the part about crossing in malaysian registered vehicles!! not yet legal to vote but i was heartened to hear my parents and a lot of likewise SG PR relatives would be going over specially to vote. but now what? they’re so blatant it’s disgusting. in fact my dad’s still in denial lol he says he’ll tell them he’s crossing for seafood wtf. nndunno what to feel la! in no explainable terms, i love malaysia and want to one day return, do my idealistic part in rebuilding us somehow. just… DGJHAASKJD
so sweet this post :,)
Totally agree with you Aud!! I really do love Malaysia – it’s such a resourceful, peaceful and blessed country- and I feel it’s such a waste that we have such corrupt figures of authority. Hopefully this election will be the turning point for our country! ><
worst point is they r giving out free ICs for those cheap labors, ie. banglas, indons, in order to gain more votes…love Malaysia but it is seriously corrupted…
Ohh. I will be accompanying my husband back also. I totally support the opposition. The BN tricks is really disgustingly despicable. I love Malaysia and also hope for the best bec one day my husband will sure go back.
Thanks for posting this. Really a touching one.
totally agreed with u!!!!!
Yes, this is our tanahair, we gotta stand by it!
hmm. aud,i read some of your posts on twitter and cant help feeling that the news you read are pretty much bias towards the opposition. im not a pro bn person but i think you should research more in depth about politics before jumping into the bandwagon and start urging people to vote for opposition. you said you’d vote for pas. do you really know about the laws there? do you know every thursday night is no entertainment night?
btw, in every country, including your beloved america, the leaders are all corrupted. when theres power, theres the temptation and sometimes its inevitable.the whole nation is shouting about corruption. its true that malaysia’s leaders are corrupted but who knows the true amount? everyone is raving about it because the opposition say so. facebook posts like boycotting old town coz rosmah owns it.. all these are practically nonsense..the opposition is making a lot of hoo hah, hoping to drive some anger into us youngsters.
I will give my virgin X to the party who deserves it. Yes. It’s priceless vote. Now or never.
You say you’re not pro bn but u sound very much so. I don’t keep my political opinions a secret, but neither do I urge people to vote opposition; I urge people to vote full stop. I have read the manifestos and done research that has convinced me that PR is the right choice for me. Can you say the same for yourself?nnYour entire comment is assumption that I haven’t done my homework and blatantly trying to tell me I’m wrong. I find you offensive.
Why must you say my beloved America? If that’s true, why am I insisting that fighter grow up Malaysian? nnOf course other countries are corrupted too. So you think that since everyone is corrupted it’s ok? What nonsense. The way I see it, if the US is corrupted, more power to the Americans for wanting to fight it. Same goes for Malaysia. We should be striving to improve not accept it. nnYou are both ridiculous and disagreeable.
wow sf really?? but so cold and foggy like 85% of the yearnbut you 2 are truly good parents to think about your child and not yourself. b/c some parents want to move and they say oh it’s for my child i want this and that the best for my child when in reality it is more for themselves than their child
Well said Aud! Fighter is definitely blessed. If only Hee Yit Foong has / had parents with such integrity and conviction like you guys, she might not have lompat. Wish you, your family & Iil’ fighter all the best.
This is awesome 🙂
Thumbs up for you Aud! Being a public figure and speaks up for what you believe in. Fighter is lucky to have you as the mother! Lets vote for a better Malaysia!
exactly my point. to those 2 anons who made superficial remarks obviously have not made any research on their own. tv3 tv3 much, perhaps? tsk
We all jia you lar. I love Malaysia so much because this is my home. nVote for our children to grow up in a cleaner country
Why is it that I’m from SF but the only person of my group of friends that wish I grew up somewhere else like Singapore or Malaysia? ;_;
So you’re having a boy?!?! 😀
MOVE TO VANCOUVER LA !!!!!! no terrorists some more !
I have the exact same thoughts lately! Not pregnant, but I have been thinking a lot lately of whether I want to bring another life into this world and see much things happening around in Malaysia (crime, corruption etc) and the things that we taught in school do not probably happen in real life. All the things they learned in Pendidikan Moral don’t actually happen all the time?nBeing overprotective and overbearing hahaha even before time, but can’t help myself..
Why not just move to Singapore? Govt 99% not corrupt.
I love your Malaysian spirit! Good luck with your pregnancy..hope everything goes well
