Bali in KL

Yay it’s property viewing time again!

Who else loves driving around housing areas and stalking people’s houses?

*cheers*

Who else loves looking at house miniatures and imagining they live there?

Okay so looking at houses and imagining a life there is a slight obsession of mine. Hahahaha.

Last week we paid a visit to the office/showroom of KEN Rimba.  KEN Rimba is a township in Shah Alam, the first green township in Malaysia and one that has won multiple awards .  There’s news that the KEN Rimba Condominium is being awarded BCA Green Mark GoldPLUS (Provisional) too. I wrote about their landed properties before here.

In 2014 KEN Rimba will be launching their Green Condominium!

There are three types of units available – Typical (the normal type), Penthouse (self explanatory) and Pool Villa

CIMG2179

This is a view of the condo.  On the bottom are the pool villas, so named because they’re pool side. The pool is Olympic sized, and comes with kiddy pool too!

On the opposite side are the blocks of high rise condo units.

Another look at the planned development.  That’s Sam of KEN and Fatty in the back.  The brown square is a pavilion next to the pool. And at the far end, the green covered square is actually a “green cage” – a plant covered roof that protects a badminton court and a kids’ playground underneath.

And underneath this whole pool area are covered car parks for residents, as well as a Sky Bridge connecting the car park and condo blocks.

I love the concept of the condo, especially the pool villas!  It’s like living in a Bali villa, which is about right because the whole concept of KEN Rimba is Bali-inspired.

Here’s a dissection of the pool villa layout.

It’s pretty cool cos the pool villa is located above the parking garage.  So your car enters the garage and you get to park directly under your unit.  Then you go in the connecting door and go up the stairs to where the living spaces actually are.

There’s a spacious living room, dining area and kitchen, and up the stairs are three good sized rooms. 🙂

CIMG2180

Front view.  So in the front there’s a little garden and walkway too, right before the pool area starts.

CIMG2176

The back of the pool villas.

Next is the ‘typical’ condo unit.  Show you the showroom!!!! *Jerry Maguire voice wtf

There are three elevators (2 + 1 bomba) so you don’t need to wait super long to go up to your apartment.

CIMG2187

The front door.  There’s a little porch in front where the shoe cabinets are, after the grill door.

CIMG2189

You enter and immediately is a space where you can put your dining furniture.

CIMG2188

To the right (or left, depending on the unit) is the kitchen area.  Kitchen is open concept which I love cos it opens up the space and makes it look that much bigger.

CIMG2190

After the dining area is a cosy living area. I think it’s best to put just one couch in like in this showroom.  Then top up with more chairs if needed.  It makes it more spacious and comfy I feel.  Living room opens up to a balcony too.

CIMG2192

Then you go off from the living area to the hallway to bedrooms.

CIMG2191

Here’s the spare bedroom.  It’s small but I think it works as a guest room or a study.  Or both!  Can easily set up a laptop or desktop on that floating desk.  And I like how the bed is built in to maximize space.  Under the bed is more storage too.

Some great ideas for doing up the place if you ever buy!

CIMG2195

Here’s the master bed room, not crazily big but pretty decent sized.

CIMG2194

What’s huge is the bathroom though!  Big enough to put in a glass enclosed shower area as well as pretty glass shelving for decor items or toiletries.

There’s another bathroom directly opposite the second room too.

CIMG2193

Here’s the kitchen.  Also nice and spacious (bigger than our Mesra Terrace one D:).  It opens out to an ‘outdoor’ area where you can have a wet kitchen or use it as storage.

CIMG2199

My favorite room! Hehe I have a penchant for small rooms (cos my bedroom growing up was tiny).  This is the bedroom I always wanted as a kid!

What other features of the development?

General facilities include a sunken Jacuzzi and sunken lounge in swimming pool with cabanas;  gymn and badminton courts covered by green cage, CCTV with access card.

Green features include a North-south orientation to avoid direct sunlight and heat, adjustable louvered windows, recycling bins and environmentally friendly materials.

There’s also a covered walkway leading from the condo to the KTM station.  There’s also 109 units of Ken Rimba Commercial Center nearby.

CIMG2209Me with KY!

He’s already bought a house in KEN Rimba and I’m considering getting one of the apartments too for investment purposes.

One unit is 1119 or 1183 square feet so it’s perfect for a starter home for a young couple.  Got space for one baby room hahaha.  Prices are pretty reasonable, starting from RM 399K per unit.

Wah look at me!  I’m such an adult! Got baby then now wanna buy house! Hahaha.

The development will be completed in 2018 la so that gives me four years to scrape up the money for it wtf. Okay what hahahah sounds doable.
